Notes

BBC Radio 1 has a target audience of 18-24 year olds which is the same demographic as the target audience for the Live at Bournemouth 7's broadcast. Similar to the format of what we aim to do on Bournemouth 7's, with two presenters one in the studio and the other at the festival and using wifi technology from the festival to connect to the studio. The show broadcasted fully from Radio 1's Big Weekend with Gemma Cairney, the one of the presenter, being in the studio on site and Scott Mills being the other presenter presenting on site around the festival interviewing many of the acts backstage, including Ed Sheeran. They also played out sets of the festival live with Gemma stating that as it was live that there maybe strong language and if you were easily offended to go and experience other content via Radio 1's website. This is for compliance issues and informs the audience of other set/content throughout the Big Weekend. The presentation style of the show was informal and upbeat which will be similar to that of the Bournemouth 7's production. However unlike Bournemouth 7's, this show and generally all of Radio 1's programmes, focus heavily on social media and audience interactivity. Another difference between this programme and live at Bournemouth 7's is this also focusses on the live sets from the festival whereas Bournemouth 7's will be focussing on interviews of the artists and the general atmosphere of the festival.
